About Brett

Brett is a Professional Photographer of Canada recognized as an expert in Pictorial / Scenic imagery. In 2007, he earned a degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Guelph where he was honoured with an ASLA Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement. Moving to Vancouver that same year, he has since balanced a successful career spanning landscape architecture, photography, and graphic design.

In 2013 he founded Brett Ryan Studios as a place to create and pursue meaningful image based projects. As an architectural photographer with a design background, he approaches his projects from an insider’s perspective — able to read concept plans, understand construction details, and empathize with the challenges that come with realizing a new building or public space. This relationship between photography and design has proven increasingly valuable, providing a wide spectrum of industry clients, with images that help firms win awards, proposals, and build marketing assets that truly reflect the ideas behind their work.

Aside from photography he loves film, food, graffiti, hiking, and anything with a story. And while his work here focuses largely on architecture, he's driven by all ideas and projects committed to being done well.
