The Salt Plaza

A contemporary public plaza with a nod to Vancouver's industrial roots. The Salt Plaza acts as a central commons for Vancouver's Southeast False Creek neighbourhood while injecting new ideas in lighting, public art, and landscape architecture into the city's public realm. The area played home to athletes' village for the 2010 Winter Olympic and Paralympic games, and the legacy lives on as a space that grows more welcoming with each passing year. Designed by PFS Studio, its successes lies in subtleties — small details and materials that reference the industrial history of the Vancouver Salt company in a timeless manner.
